Vincent van Gogh's Sunflower is one of the most iconic paintings in art history. The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has now focused on these famous works as part of a solo exhibition, to which the Exhibition on Screen team has been granted exclusive access.
The film seeks answers to a number of questions related to these paintings. Why did Van Gogh choose sunflowers? What message does this series of paintings bring? What makes the individual paintings different? What did the scientists who studied these works reveal in detail? In addition to Amsterdam, the film will also visit London, Philadelphia, Tokyo and Munich to reveal the secrets of Vincent van Gogh's five famous sunflower paintings and create a unique virtual exhibition for cinema screens.
The Exhibition on Screen series brings world-class artists to the big screen through exclusive access to museums and galleries around the world. In 9 seasons, this series has offered a total of 30 internationally acclaimed films.
