The Modřany cinema has been showing films since 1919 and is one of the oldest still-operating movie theaters in Prague—over the years, it has also been known as Bio Lido and Viktoria. Following its nationalization in 1945, the cinema is now managed by the descendants of its pre-war owners. In addition to films, it offers live broadcasts from European theaters and opera houses, as well as fine art exhibitions.
