This amateur film is a recording of a wedding ceremony from 2000, during which Jiří Kára and Blanka Divišová said “I do.” This authentic glimpse into the world of the “lower ten thousand” gained a large audience primarily on YouTube.com, and thanks to the participants’ complete nonconformity before, during, and after the ceremony, it has achieved cult status today. Given the fates of the wedding guests, this recording can also be seen as a tragicomic account of the lives of Prague’s alcoholics and drug-addicted fellow citizens.
